Recipients of this weeks awards will receive their Gold Award om the assembly on the 15th of December, due to the School Presentation Day on the 8th. PLease take note of our very special golden girls at the bottom of this post - a HUGE thank you to Mrs Minehan and Mrs Pay this year for providing ongoing, fanastic support to both our students and teachers. <3
The whole school was fortunate to have a visit by the Lyneham High School beginners band today - and what a show it was! The children thoroughly enjoyed the performance, of which part was being introduced to the different instruments in the band. It was wonderful to see the children bouncing along to tunes that they know, presented in a different way. Thank you Lyneham High School for visiting! Last Thursday, students in K-2 undertook a lesson in Taking Care of our Pets and Dog Safety. Students learned how to approach a dog they don't know and some students got to practise this with Sian's lovely dog Leroy. The four steps for students to remember are STOP 3 big steps away, ASK the owner if you can pat their dog, let the dog SMELL you, and then PAT the dog on the back, never on the head. Students also learned to stand still, arms by sides and look down if a dog off the lead approaches them. Kindergarten would like to say a big thank you to both the Broulee Public School P & C and to the school itself for the recent funds provided to purchase new learning resources. You can see the children below enjoying the new lego and our superheroes challenging themselves on the balancing rocks... whilst some thoroughly enjoyed playing in the boxes they came in :)
Congratulations to this week's award winners, who will follow up with a special award at the whole school assembly on Thursday.
We had a wonderful visit to Mogo Zoo on Friday! It was a hot day and we were able to see how different animals took shelter from the heat. We looked at the different coverings animals have: feathers, fur, hair, skin and scales along with the different habitats of the animals - and how well they could hide within them! We enjoyed a picnic in the shade, feeding the deer and watching the animals play, eat and rest. I wonder which animal was your child's favourite.... Congratulations to our award winners this week. A special mention goes to Elsie, Daisy, Tayla, Charlotte, Evie, Max and Jonny, who will be receiving their Gold awards at assembly this Thursday.
