Today we made habitats for different animals.
Ahoy me hearties! Pirate week has gotten off to a great start! Ask your child about pirate words and words with the 'ar' sound in them. We were amazed with how many different words the children came up with! Today we made pirates that we could eat!! We look forward to seeing everyone dressed in their pirate outfits tomorrow... We had more outdoor maths fun today, on our last day of term, using positional language to move our bodies, and hoops, in relation to each other. We were on, over, under, beside, behind, above, below, on, in and even moving through our hoops! Afterwards, the children enjoyed exploring with the hoops and came up with so many different things to do with them! To further explore "groups of" , we held Kindy boot camp yesterday where we did exercises in sets, or groups. It was a lot of fun and we all had a great work out whilst learning! Kindergarten students have been busy consolidating their understanding of arrays. This week, to coincide with fruit and vegetable month, we planted a vegetable garden inside our classroom (just pretend!), designed our own gardens on paper, then planted gardens on sand trays using paddlepop sticks. The children were very particular in making sure their vegetables were all in a row! Kindergarten have been busy consolidating their understanding of arrays. This week, in conjunction with fruit and vege month, we planted a vegetable garden in the middle of the classroom, designed our own gardens on paper, then made them in sand trays out of paddle pop sticks. The children had a wonderful time and were very particular in making sure their vegetables were in rows!
